Poem - A Conversation Worth Having

When convivial in conversation

It is thought that one can ascertain true worth

But quietude and honest contemplation

Grant better occupation on this earth.

Through gossip one is only treading water

Not knowing hidden depths are to be found

But silence can bring insight, understanding

To our constant march through time before the ground.

And mark my words my friend, your end is coming

I say this with sincerity and haste

Imagine if you will your death drums drumming

and realize there's not a breath to waste.
